Hi,

I have a couple of questions regarding the bury link. Any help is greatly appreciated.

1. Currently, the bury link appears when the user is not logged in. It disappears when the user does log in. I don't understand why it behaves this way, should not logged in users be able to bury stories also?

2. What does the Bury link do exactly? Is it negative one vote? '

3. As an admin or god, can i view which stories have been buried? I cannot see how to do that from the admin interface right now.

4. I was able to hide the link from non-logged in users by wrapping the pertinent line of code in link_summary.tpl with an if user athenticated statement. This works if you are not logged in but if you do log in, the bury link is still not visible. How can I make the bury link appear only for logged in users? (and do I want to do this?, I am confused as to what bury does).

Thanks a lot for your help, insight or advice. Total newbie here so I am very appreciative.

JM

Digg defination of Bury :
Bury. If you find stories with bad links, off-topic content, or duplicate entries, click “Bury.” That’s how we get the spam out of the system and let the good stuff rise to the top.

The system only works when users actively participate on a large scale, so make sure to do your part and Digg and Bury content that matters to you

You need to be logged in to bury. The thumb rule is you cannot bury your own article ! Hence you will see bury icon ONLY for articles not submitted by you ( user logged in ) .

1. Must have something to do with your template. Bury should be visible to users that are logged in.

2. You can control the Bury feature from Admin panel -> Formulas. Remember to activate the Admin formulas module from your module management. 1 bury is not 1 negative vote, I think you understand how it works when you check the formula.

3. No. I think it's not possible.

4. Must be a template related thing. Can't really help without seeing the code.

Andtony has given a clear explaination of all your queries. Check your template or contact the author why it behaves different from the default template - check the functionality at Pligg Beta 9 / Published News

@enchantingblue : why make multiple posts - when you can always edit a post - If you had read the rules multiple post is treated as bumping to get attention and will lead to a ban/infraction.
