Hi I am ever so grateful for pligg, but for the purposes of the website I am designing around it, it is crucial that thumbnails of pictures show up right next to the Vote box is on each story submitted.

http://celebritypwn.com/ This is a perfect example for what I need expect for the pictures to be user submitted (submit the picture with the story), but this person wrote all of his site from scratch or so he says.

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it, I really believe I have a golden market niche but I need the framework of pligg to allow this key feature, then it can take off like a rocket that spews $100 bills as exhuast.

I guess the system hotornot but with a digg/pligg system of having multiple stories on the front page would work for what I need.

Also if anyone could help me change the color scheme of pligg 9.5 beta to everything as green (I am manually photoshoping all the gifs that make up teh site green) it would really help.

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks

Try the image upload module created by cent located at http://forums.pligg.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=36

To change the template colors other than the images go to the css file and change the hex values to which ever color necessary.

Hi, I actually just posted a thread on v0.93. I encourage those who have a previous version to try the latest one at http://forums.pligg.com/questions-comments/7021-mod-image-upload-module-v0-93-please-test-post31868.html.

Once its been tested by the Pligg community, I'll officially post it to the downloads area.

Best,
Cent

Im glad you like the site ackza. I saw forums.pligg in my logs and thought I'd put my two cents in, if you don't mind. I decided that editing Pligg to my needs would be too difficult for me, so I decided to code my site from scratch. Give it a try if your off of school for the summer. It could be fun and a great learning experience for ya.

Whatever you decide to do, best of luck.

haha wow small world xpose. Yeah I've been indoors all day and for the last 3 days (got my wisdom teeth pulled 3 days ago, no swelling yet!)

I have lots of free time right now, can you recomend some resources or tutorials I can try out to get started? Or also some tools for instance: Should I use dreamweaver to preview my site, or what other tools should I use to preview things or should I just make modifications?

Once I have good tutorials I am the type of person who learns fast and I would apreciate some refrences for coding php, if that is even what I am going to be doing, sorry for the noob talk, I will learn fast and give back to community. Thanks

I personally don't suggest Dreamweaver. I use UltraEdit to do all of my coding. I use TopStyle Pro to do most of my style sheets.
The web is a great place to get example code. For example, I googled the code on how to create a basic comment system with threading and built my comment system upon that. Now its among the best in the business.

If you are new to programming, I'd suggest buying a book. I bought a book called "Learning PHP 5" by David Sklar. (Its white and green, just so you know its the right one.) Maybe check out http://www.w3schools.com/php/default.asp as well.

The best way to learn php is to work on your own project. So now that you have an idea, spend some time getting the simple stuff to work. Then build upon it. You will use google about 600 times along the way.
