I've been trying to track down this error from my logs and came across this topic. After seeing the mention of errors in the trackback records in the DB I find I have the same thing in mine. Any word on how to fix or even disable this completely?

I visit the forum hoping to find the solution to this problem from time to time. I tried the fix wagthis suggested, but it didn't work. I am using 9.8.2. I might have missed something, so I am going to try it again. I wonder what version this fix works.

Don't know about the trackbacks working but the errors seemd to have disappeared from my site after I noticed the addition of a modifier.escape.php file in the SVN code... Added the file and no trackback errors for new submissions (and also no more escape modifier errors in my error logs).

I never use trackbacks so I don't know if I have an error in mine, but it's a 9.8.2 so I guess yes.. I will try to copy it and then try sending a trackback somewhere..

Hi there.
Thanks to wagthis for its tips to make trackback works.

I'm running 9.8.2 version on iluminalo.com and I have done the pointed changes:
from 9.5 version
- copy over trackback.php in root and /libs
from 9.1 version
- add plugins/modifier.escape.php
plugins/shared.escape_chars.php
plugins/shared.escape_special_chars.php

Inicially I did the other two changes (submit.php and submit_step_3.tlp), but then users cannot choose Category and so they cannot submmit news. Then I recovered my initial ones and it seems it work nice.
