What version of Pligg are you using? The 'escape' modifier was removed because it wasn't needed anymore. You can download it from here.

I couldn't get this working either.I have pligg 9.5 and wordpress. when I submit a blog entry from wordpress, it detects the trackback url, but then after submit is completed, trackback is not sent to wordpress. I noticed in submit step 3, the 'trackback' hidden input field is always empty and the error log says "'escape' modifier does not exist". I checked the submit_step_3.tpl and noticed the value should be coming from
"$templatelite.post.trackback|escape:"html"
I also checked the plugins folder and don't see a file like modified.escape.php.


I also verified trackback function on wordpress is working. So the problem is not there.

What could be the problem?

I have the same problem. I'm running Pligg 9.7. When I submit a story relating to a blog post of my own Pligg isn't trackbacking/pinging my blog post.

In the DB in the table pligg_trackbacks theres is always "error" in colom trackback_status. In trackback_url it is always:

I also uploaded the rejected modifier.escape.php from the old pligg 9.1 but this doesn't work either.

I think the trackback function is worth using it. So, has anyone any idea what's going wrong with it?

Copy over submit.php from an older version like Pligg 9.5.
And also copy over trackback.php in /libs and
submit_step_3.tpl in your template.

Who can help to fix this, I think trackbacks are the best marketing tool!

I'm using Pligg 9.5, and have the same error messages in my MySQL table under trackback_url. In fact, I never bothered looking before until today, and there are 2,075 of these errors, one for each story submitted since I started my site! Over and over the same error:

When submitting a story, the trackback url is entered for a blog post, but it never sends any trackbacks out to a blog.

I tried the suggestion in this thread to copy these files in from an older version:

plugins/modifier.escape.php
plugins/shared.escape_chars.php
plugins/shared.escape_special_chars.php

But it didn't help. Still getting the same error. Does the trackback function work for anyone? I've searched the posts in this in this forum, and have yet to find a solution.
