Hi there, I have just spent some time reading the thread about Pligg and vBulletin integration.

Let me state that this is one element that should be placed on the TO ACHIEVE LIST

The reason I say this is because integration with vBulletin opens up the use of hacks that would change the 'your' whole community platform you developing

I have read a few threads of users asking for WordPress integration etc etc

once you achieve vBulletin integration you will find a number of other packages available to your community from the WordPress bridge, MediaWiki integration, Drupal through vBdrupal, gallery systems, dating portals and many more

I develop a few portals and came towards Pligg due to it offering another feature that can be added to the communities I develop, so I can quite openly state that once vBulletin integration is achieved even those users who want to play arcade games will be happy or those who want to have Google Maps attached .. and on and on

Its all out there waiting

now any news on that integration

What standard of integration are you looking for? I thought I'd already achieved it, at least for my needs - shared registration and login using vbulletin authentication. If you're talking about more advanced integration, such as sharing data like story and thread content, then no, that hasn't been done.

There does seem to be a problem with authentication and the latest pligg version (b9.6) - but as yet no one who has that version installed has tried to make it compatible (except me, untested, although only 1 person has tried it out yet).

Btw, I agree with the power of vbulletin. I use it at the CMS basis for 2 sites (both with pligg integrated in) and it works better than anything else I've ever used! vBulletin, wordpress, pligg is a powerful combination!

Hi Simon

I will drop you a PM and see whether I can run through things

My only concern is I am currently only putting Pligg into use, still configuring etc

so would prefer not to get caught up in testing things for now

but will go towards it within this month

Thanks

As you might already know Simon i ran your fantastic VB Bridge until it stopped working in 9.6. I run Pligg, Vbulletin and wordpress and yes it's a great combination.

One thing i would ask Simon is, since my VB Bridge broke users have been registering with Pligg when the VB Bridge is fixed how would i get the users that registered with pligg during the time vbridge has been turned off be imported to Vbulletin?

this is something i have been thinking about and i am sure most users that used your bridge will be the same, the VB Bridge registered the users through VBulletins registration process and inserted the details into the pligg database.

So would it be possible to import the users from Pligg to vbulletin is what i am asking or i may never be able to go back to using the VBulletin Bridge as i would lose pligg users accounts etc.

Cheers

Adam
