Hi

I have updated to v9.6, using yget template, and cannot submit a new story. No error message appears on the screen, then story just does not appear.

Also, I have notice that I am not listed as a user in the top users list. Before "admin" and "jon" were listed (both are god level). Has something changed so that god level cannot post?

I had some database issues, and had to import that backup, could there be a problem there? I have been able to discard and set a URL to the spam list, so I assume that things are working OK on that front.

addition: I just tried to log in as a test user, and reset the password, but on attempting to log in, received this message:

"not for you! go away!"

So I guess that there is some sort of issue with the connection to the database?

Please advise. Willing to provide more information if you tell me what you need to know.

EDIT: I have successfully created a new user, and check the dataase. But this new user cannot submit a story either.

EDIT 2: The stories are there - but all new stories are set as "discard". The only way that I can see the stories is by logging in as admin, and looking at: User Management » Jon » View links

Few questions..
Are you using a db previous to the upgrade?
Which version were you upgrading from?

I was upgrading from version 9.0

db is tricky. I had some issues, and ended up rebuilding the db tables (i.e. install instead of upgrade) and importing the previous db.

Really I think I made a mess of things, but I thought I had got it sorted. Obviously not.

Should I backup, rebuild the database (install Pligg again) and import data?

Or do I need to run "upgrade" now? - OK, I was impatient, and ran the upgrade anyway. No change.

Additional info: I notice that the new stories have 0 votes (even though now voted for twice - once by submitter, and once by admin). The story appears in the sidebar, and is online, but not actually visible at the top of the "published" list.

So the problem appears to be around the voting. I did change the voting method to the 5 star method, and then back again, earlier. Could this have messed something up?

Since you do have a backup of the db I would try running the upgrade again.
see if it spits out any errors at ya.

It is working now.

I dropped the whole database, then did a new install, then imported the old structure, then imported the data, then upgraded the database, and now it works.

The main problem was that when submitting a story, no vote was given, even though it was still set to "vote for submitted stories".

A few other strange thing were happening. When submitting an editorial, I got an error message that the URL was not valid. But that problem has passed.

One last question - are admins / gods omitted from the "top users" just for security purposese? I assume that they are.

Hopefully everything is OK now. I have tested the bulk status change and that works OK.

How do you resolve this trouble, I have the same, when I submit a story, the vote is "0" so ----->Discard . How to resolve it ?
