When you submit a url in step 1, it creates a new story with the status as discard.

If the users doesn't go through the submission process then the story will stay as discarded.

now with the 1 in the end, when you go back to modify pligg thinks this is a different story so it'll detect the older story with the same title and then add a number in the end.

having a number in the end, does it really matter to seo things?

Could you share your solution? This 'feature' is something we'd like to be rid of as well.
