Hi, i need some help but in spanish, because my english is so baaaaaaaad... and primitive...
I explain my trouble in a bad english and perfect spanish

ESPAÑOL:

Lei y reelei todos los post referidos al problema de codificacion de caracteres ( "special characters (ä,ü,ö,ß) problem" ; "
1 Attachment(s) I have a problem with the characters Ñ and "´"" ; etc) pero no termino de resolver los problemas.

Matias

IN PREHISTORIC INGLISH:
I read and read every post about this: "special characters (ä,ü,ö,ß) problem" ; "
1 Attachment(s) I have a problem with the characters Ñ and "´"" ; and more...

I use Pligg v9.7 whit "Spanish lang.conf Pligg Beta 9.6"

But i don't repair every trouble.... some accents and "Ñ" character arent seen correctly... is rare/strange...

You can see the problem in: hepatitisc2000.com.ar/noticias

I hop you can help me,
Thanks in advance for your patience...

Matias

Try to replace UTF-8 with ISO-8859-1 everywhere I mentioned it at the äüöß-Thread. ISO-8859-1 should fit for spanish characters.

Hope that helps.

tbones, thanks for answering...

I replace UTF-8 with ISO-8859-1 everywhere mentioned it at the äüöß-Thread, but no fix te problem,... :S
For example i remplace
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
with
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />

Nothing happened ...

If you see hepatitisc2000.com.ar/noticias , have the problems with the letters "í" , "á" , "ñ" in some page or some links,... but in other no...

The next image show, with green the characters correctly view and red similar or same charcaters/letters but wrong...

Waths is the file that this codified bad?
I think, that it is a file especially...

Thanks!

Have you checked this phenomenon with serveral browsers? Could be that your browser is manually set to UTF-8 and ignores the ISO-8859-1 instruction?

Edit: The read more links are ok in UTF-8 but the text below "Que es Hepa-Red?" is wrong in UTF-8 AND ISO-8859-1. Check your lang.conf file and try to save it with a special editor that is capable to save with different encodings. Here is a table of other ISO 8859 codes that may suit you: ISO 8859 - Wikipedia

Hello,

I checked the lang.conf you are using and I see that Spanish characters are not properly coded in that file.

Open the file with a plain text editor and replace "é" with "&eacute;" , "ñ" with "&ntilde;", "ó" with "&oacute;", etc.... it should work !
