Is it intentional that comments to discarded stories wonŽt get discarded themselves?

If yes, IŽd like to get them discarded because they make discarded stories visible again
- through the profile view (minor risk) OR (if quite new)
- through the lastest comments sidebar (major risk).

For #2, in sidebar_comments.php

SourceForge.net Repository - [pligg] View of /branches/9.x/sidebar_comments.php

Find line 26 and change it to
PHP Code:
$res "select comment_content,comment_id,link_id from ".table_comments.",".table_links." WHERE comment_link_id = link_id AND link_status != 'discarded' ORDER BY comment_date DESC limit ".comments_size_sidebar.""
I haven't tested it but I think it may work

Does not work, thank you anyway.

Would this link_id work for this problem (http://forums.pligg.com/suggestions/...nt-link.html)?

Another option would honour the performance of the commenters:
Leave the comments where they are and display instead of the story text a message "This story has been discarded".

Edit: Only if there are any comments so far!

I thought about different realizations and discovered that this is the easiest one:
Modify the edit link for admins that there is a button "Change to discard message". This button changes (the title to "Administrator message" and) the description to "This story has been discarded".

What do you think about it?

Since there is no solution for my last post I would like to have an admin link delete comments next to edit. If I discard a story the related comments can be some days old. It really hard to find them at the comment management panel then.

Here is a radical solution to get rid of discarded stories: http://forums.pligg.com/pligg-mods/1...stories-4.html
