Please, sorry my English

I've been reading Pligg forums and other stuff related to Meneame.net, and I think that Pligg is great [we want Pligg @ Wikipedia ]

Well, I think that Pligg needs more life, and I have some advices, maybe they are not the ones, but I think it needs more life.

Here is some kind of index of my ideas:

1. Needs Mailing Lists
2. Needs more than a demo, but different to what we have in the Net
3. We could work in the decentralized way

Well, I'm going to splain the three points:

1. Needs Mailing Lists
   Hey folks, there is a lot of people in the world that doesn't have a real access to the Internet but have a network in his(her) school or at work.
   By other side, I would like to be update to all the things that you talk in the forum and it is difficult using the web.
   
   
2. Needs more than a demo, but different to what we have in the Net
   I know we have Digg, we have Meneame, and we have a lot of clones from Pligg and Meneame.net.
   Maybe we should make Pligg a Real Thing, but with different features. Who said that we cannot do the same thing that Digg!!!!????, Digg is closed, we are open!, haven't you heard that history in the past!!!???
   
   I think that maybe:
   
   • Pligg could let the users post messages BUT encouraging all the time to all people use their own copy of Pligg.
   • Pligg could be some kind of umbrella from the Pliggs installed around the world. So it can have the idea of diversity and union at the same time It would need a database to dunno have repeated links, and other stuff, but I like this idea.
   • I've thinking in Pligg like the "planet" idea. I let my users have their own Pligg, but the ones with selected categories, passes to MAIN Pligg stream. Maybe it could be done with Pliggs around the world.
   
   
3. We could work in the decentralized way
   We all know that world is going to P2P and decentralized systems!!!, we could try the a) b) c) above but always being ourselves the main example.

Well, I have other ideas, but I think that this ones are the ones to share right now!!! Let the people use what we've done isn't just to let them copy the software, they must feel it from the begining

Yes, that is missing, but currently with users registered on this board will get e-mail from admin on new releases/upgrades/security patches. There are two pligg directories to list all pligg sites which encompasses your planet idea I guess.

At present apart from demo, the front page of Pligg Content Management System features some good, unique pligg sites, picked by admins. Actually in your post you missed your suggestions, If you have any to improve Pligg - we are open on it.

We have a Forum (this is the heart of all Pligg related things), IRC, e-mails, PMs. Should you need more we are open to ideas.

In my view:
Though Pligg installation is very simple, yet, modifying Pligg to user's taste requires a detailed understanding, which can only be accomplished through documentation - that is one area we sure are lagging.

Easy templating is next - but lead devs are working to get a version that will allow users to template their site very simple.

Optimizing for least server resource - currently most people try Pligg on shared host, in that case optimized resource and db calls is essential. Atp, Ash, savant have done great job optimizing the database calls and improving the cache etc. Hopefully with version 2.0 thing will change.

EDIT: Also this discussion will best fit into Drawing Board forum, so moving.

I got your point, I think so, let's see.

As I can figure it out, the main idea from Pligg's guys is development, and I say so because all the things that you show me about Pligg uses are secondary things, and most of them static to Pligg.com site.

Maybe I'm wrong, but in the site there are two things with a real life:

1. Pligg's demo
2. Pligg's forums

And there is the third, and with more life: development among lead devs.

I think that Pligg itself should be the core of Pligg, not his development.
I know that this idea goes against the main idea of all CMS, the traditional thing of having a demo and those stuff, heheyy, Pligg is not traditional!!!!!!!

Well, I think that this thing of guiding the site into life more than development is a big battle, mainly because of the Pligg leaders are developers

I think that maybe you are open to ideas, but not the resources you are giving to people to interact with you
For instance, in my country many people will love to use Pligg, but most of us connect the Internet just a little, and we all use the e-mail a lot
