Hi, I need a very easy, simple template to use. I don't care what it has as long as it is not default. (OK, I would like user to be able to read it lol) Only thing I'd like to actually change besides color scheme is the "vote" button to some other style.

Anyway, I have an extremely low budget but I could also add your website or similar to mine, or any other suggestions.

I know this is bad to ask but please have some sympathy

Also, just out of curiosity, how long does a very simple template take to edit/create?

You may be able to easily create a new look by replacing the default images in the yget/images directory. Even a few new images (votes, header and navbar) should help.

How do you change the background color? I have played around and figured out how to change words in the Tabs (such as "Submit a new story") and I know how to change the images, just not the background colors.

Oh, and how do you insert a header image at the top?

I am just bad at creating new good looking images. lol

Look in css/main.css to set background colors. You can insert your header image either in the css/main.css file or in the yget/header.tpl file.

If you have some knowledge of css, the Firebug extension for Firefox is very useful.

Once in it, you can select the part of the site you want to modify, click Inspect Element, figure out the css that does it, and then modify it in the css.

I am pretty clueless about css, but a few hours of trial and error with Firebug and now I can do it. All you need is some patience.

Not sure if that is what I need wandering but I will look into it, thanks.

Oh, and by the way, I edited files with random colors just to see what was where, and only like 2 of them actually worked...I deleted browser cache and the template_c contents but still nothing...?

Pretty much all the color settings are in the css/main.css file. Even if you have not worked with css before, you should easily be able to change colors by looking for 3 and 6 letter/number combinations in the file (like #000 for example) and changing these to colors you like.

A search for color codes should give you pages like Basic HTML data types which should make it easy for you to get the codes for colors.

OK I'm done I just need to put in my custom image. Can someone tell me exactly where to put it and what to type? I am no good at this.

I've looked in CSS/main and obviously it does somewhere under "Header" but I don't know where and what to type.

Look for the line with 'headbar.png' in the css file. However, easiest way is to replace the default image in the images directory (images/headbar.png) with your new image of the same size.

I want a header, not a new headbar.

For example, Rugbynewz.com Rugby News / All Rugby News I want the green "Rugbynewz" sign, but my own of course
