I've been looking at various Pligg sites, and forgive me for not know what features are 'out of the box'...

This Pligg site mentions adding "Subscribe to comments": PlugIM - Blog » Blog Archive » New Feature: Subscribe to Story Comments

Is that a mod that is currently available, or is it now a default feature?

I just saw that PlugIM uses 48x48 px avatars. I would suggest the same or 45x45 px for Pligg since I can hardly recognize the users with 30x30px.

I agree, but what does that have to do with comment subscriptions?

There was a module, but I doubt that it works with the current version of Pligg. For now I'm going to say there is no method just so that I don't have to answer questions about a 2 year old module.

The Twitter Module for Pligg CMS!
Register, Login, and Submit Stories with Twitter. An absolute MUST HAVE for all Pligg sites!

It is a very important feature. I have little knowledge of programming but I would like to develop a module to do so.

Discussions visits increase much
