How to know number of online users ??

    Hi Friends,
Is there anyway we can publish number of users online at any time on the pligg site using some pligg module or some other third party module like Joomla allows you to do???

    That would be great.

It's another reason that I think a new integration with Joomla 1.5.x/1.7.x would be brilliant. Pligg is somewhat limited beyond the basics. It's nice, but needs to be partnered with a full CMS to offer more functionality like deeper monitoring, etc.

That's why Drigg was so great with it's Drupal function. But it says a lot for Pligg that it has endured and lasted while Drigg essentially died off.

I have a module soon to be released that expands on a lot of user functionality. Like showing how many members are online, real time chat, private message expansion, etc.. I had aimed to release it yesterday but I want to clean it up a little more and do some more testing for sites using url method 2.

    Here are a couple screenshots.
#1 shows the toolbar at the bottom with some features added
#2 shows the chat box when the chat icon is clicked.

Will the toolbar interfere with other java/ajax based toolbars that sites may be running?

I'm not sure why someone would want to run multiple toolbars but it's impossible to tell you if they would interfere.

    nice

    thats nice that toolbar.

Would be nicer if you can see it also when your not logged in.

Does it have an option to add some social icons? good idea chuckroast
Is the toolbar visible to logged in users and logged out users or only logged in users?
does it show online users who havent registered yet? ie not only the registered logged in users?

I do plan on adding some social buttons that will be available when viewing a story page such as facebook, twitter, and google+ etc

The toolbar will only be visible to members signed in because it's so heavily tied into a users account.
Here is another current screenshot.. It' still not done but if moving along nicely.
