Currently they get wiped off the top stories after 24 hours. I need to set this to a week instead of 24 hours but can't seem to search it searching the forums. Is there a way to do this?

Do you mean top stories in the sidebar?
You can change it in sidebar_u.php. Options are today, yesterday, week, month, year.
