This was something I wanted to do from the start and didn't think to ask. So I tired it.

At first I had to figure out there is no 'pligg' folder and that that php file is in the main directory (figured I would mention that in case it confuses someone else). So here is a screenshot of what I get...

http://www.heavyashell.com/Iframe.jpg

Then I also notice that it messes up the log in when I try to go to the site 'proper' because it still has me logged into the 'mobile' version with no link to get out of it. SO the entire site is reduced to just that side bar Iframe.

So what did I do wrong?

Can anyone tell me what blog this uses or what integration options I have for Pligg?

Well you can fuse Joomla and Pligg into one by using a bridge that is available somewhere, I haven't got the link but it's pretty easy to find on Google.

Then, use Joomla as the blogging platform, since that it can work like that and you're done.

If your client prefers Wordpress, then just install the Wordpress bridge inside Joomla, and it works perfectly well.

You can get the bridges on Joomla's official website.

It appears to use MovableType for the blog. If you go to one of the blog articles and view source for the comment submission form, there's an MT reference:

Searching for change in The Futon of Love | Simply Fired
Code:
form method="post" action="http://www.simplyfired.com/blog/cgi-bin/mt-comments.cgi"

Hey joehunk, it seems your integration is missing a bit more effort, I get an "Oooops" message! I hope we can improve Pligg and WP integration

Can anyone think of a way to make that iframe dynamically show news stories on the site ( maybe some offsite too) related to the blog post it is showing next to?

This whole thing would give your members a place to publish original material and your site would serve to publisize it. Any outside promotion that author did would serve to publicize your site as well. All the while, your site becomes more useful for the readers as well by giving them another way to discover stories they are interested in. This = win, win, win for site owner, authors, and readers. Oh yeah, and google too if you use google adwords.

create a sub domain like [url=http://blog.hotbmark.com] Hot Bookmark blog. that i integrate with blogger for my website. just go to custom domain and transfer to urs website subdomain. that's it now you can see that website's blog is ready.
