Intel must be an Idiot to spend USD 40,000 for a pligg template - there is no special design - I dunno who the f*c<ing designer was...

Wow! That's incredible that Intel would put up 40k for just a barely customized template. Hilarious that they haven't changed the default avatars: Cool Software / All users. The good news is that we have another big company to add to the list of Pligg users.

lol, adding Pligg CMS to a pligg site is funny the basic structure reveals it as Pligg and Techcrunch author goes about wondering it might be any custom CMS that will take on Digg...

I just remembered that I saw referrals from this intel.com subdomain a long time ago and speculated that they were using Pligg internally.

It probably cost $40K because the registration requires you to register for Intel's entire site. So, it probably cost $40K to develop a 100% integrated and working bridge between Intel.com and this Pligg framework. They also probably linked it to their existing database (which may or may not be MySQL) allowing their previously registered users access.

When you consider all of that, I could see it costing $40K, especially if they're not using a MySQL DB currently.

Hell, I have a hard enough time getting my basic template to look "satisfactory" to me and I'm not bridging my Pligg framework to anything (yet).

I agree a great amount of work has to be invested into integrating the existing users - but 40K is a lot more. I have done integration of Pligg to a site that uses MSSQL - but only for user management - and it again has its very own mySQL for other tables except users - it took us 22 hours of work with 2 engineers involved.

WOOOW! Congratulations you guys! It's incredible that a huge company like Intel decided to use Pligg!

By the way, what happened about the selling of the script? Was it canceled? Are you guys still in charge of the project? How's the development going? And how are you guys doing? Sorry it's been a long time, I just want to catch up

Its pretty exciting that Intel is using Pligg for their CMS. Hopefully this will attract additional attention to Pligg. I am surprised TechCrunch didn't notice this was a Pligg based site and also think the $40k figure might be incorrect.
David.
