Site and server crashes (100% memory usage)

    Hi!
i'm using my own server, a PIII 800, 256 mb RAM. Yesterday i've changed my site to urlmethod = 2 and added the patchlog's xml sitemap (i'm using 9.8.2 following this instructions

In SECONDS my server crashes, 100% memory usage.
    When i start xampp crashes.

This is before i start xampp:
    Code:
    Cpu(s): 0.0%us, 0.0%sy, 0.0%ni,100.0%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st
    Mem: 256056k total, 53072k used, 202984k free, 8880k buffers
    Swap: 746980k total, 0k used, 746980k free, 27340k cached
    this is 5 seconds after:
    Code:
    Cpu(s): 10.6%us, 12.6%sy, 0.0%ni, 0.0%id, 75.5%wa, 1.3%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st
    Mem: 256056k total, 253020k used, 3036k free, 60k buffers
    Swap: 746980k total, 746980k used, 0k free, 9876k cached
i've tried uninstalling and deleting mod from pligg, put it back into urlmethod 1, deleting .htaccess, but it still happens. :S

    How could i fix it?

Off topic, but I wanted to say great site..it appears (from alexa) that you've done some great marketing or something along those lines.

thank you very much! i've worked a lot on that site. I'm so afraid to lose all my work !

Ontopic: i still have the memory problem. Could it be the htaccess? (i have 250+ categories, and with urlmethod2 is a lot of code to add)
    i'll try urlmethod=1 back

Are you using gzip compression for the pages enabled in htaccess?

Can you rename your .htaccess as htaccess.txt and attach.

So your gzip compression is the one which is raping your server and not Pligg

    Was that this code
    Code:
    AddType "text/javascript" .gz
    AddEncoding gzip .gz
    RewriteCond %{HTTP:Accept-encoding} gzip
    RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^(.*).js
    RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME}.gz -f
    RewriteRule ^(.*)\.js $1.js.gz [L]
or did you use something different?

exactly that! i'' fix it back to home. I need to learn so much... thank you very much, today i''l tell you my results.

My newbie question (after testing it). If you truncate content from pligg_links, posts are deleted? (my pligg pass from 10 to 3 MB and i can see every post on each category)

off topic: you really rocks dollars5. Yesterday i was so upset with pligg that i even think on moving to another cms, but you have change my mind.
