Here's the first release of the lang.conf (and options.php) in french.
I know it's not perfect. So please be indulgent.

I'm not very satisfied with the word chosen to translate "news"... "nouvelles" isn't very appropriate. Any better ideas?
[edit oct 22] Solved, as v0.7 I'm using "lien".

Corrections and enhancements are welcome.
Enjoy!

Je viens de finir de tout traduire ...

C'est pas grave, ça me fait une bonne préparation au TOEFEL 2.0

En tout cas, sympa de la part de Sacha de mettre ces fichiers à disposition de la communauté francophone, BIG UP !!

Hi Sacha, yeah it seems to be a very good job (bien joué !)

I will take time to read each part of your package before the end of the week...

Concerning this :

What do you think of "Article" ? Isn't it better > Perfect word for newspapers, why not for an e-newspaper ... or perhaps just keeping "News" which is well known in France too... you know "Les dernières news" sounds great !

Feel free to tell me if my propositions are not good and I will use my brain a little bit longer

I forgot to say that if you want a well formed relatvive date (ie "il y a 1 heure" au lieu de "1 heure il y a")
edit /templates/mollio-beat/link_summary.tpl
at line 48 replace:

HTML Code:
<span id="ls_timeago-{$link_shakebox_index}">{$link_submit_timeago} {#PLIGG_Visual_Comment_Ago#}</span>
by

I don't know if we can call that an article... This is much close to a link than an article. And if you're linking to an image or a video, that's surely not an article. ;-)

Why not "news"? Well, maybe I'm wrong but I think that it would be better if we could try all french possibilities first. :-D
(and our friends from Quebec would be happy too. lol ;-)

BTW, in Pligg sometimes it's called "news", "link" or "story"... not so easy to translate as these words are used to describe the same thing.
That's confusing for users too. I'd like to find ONE term... I know, it's like the Holy Grail but I keep the faith.

Maybe "lien" (link)? Really generic word.
Don't know. lol

Yeah why not "lien"... I will probably use "news" or "article" or "posts" only for my own
[because in my opinion it's first an article (a link + a short description) even if it points after to a video or an image.]

"post" is very used too for blogs and forums, even if it's only a video or an image which is presented too...

Hum, concerning profile, it says "god profil", how can we put it like "profil (de) god" ?

Other small thing, it says 'gestion des utilisateur" instead of "gestion des utilisateurs", yeah I know it's just a detail...

Best to you,

It's time to sleep here in France !

Bertrand

Good morning everybody,

I translated the file the last week, and it's really difficult! I think the English language is much appropriate than the french... The translation of "news" is a great example!

Stupid question : why do we speak in English alors que nous sommes vraissemblement tous français?

Have a good day

Edit : I made a test. It looks great. But there is a bug : when I post a "nouvelle" , If i click to "check spelling", there is a crash because pligg is looking for the lang.conf in English. Unfortunately, i can't help you to correct it, i don't understand anything in php, css, classical dance

Concernant le "Check Spelling", il suffit de le désactiver dans l'admin panel > configure > spell check et mettre 0 comme valeur... That's all folk !!

Well, I think we should ask kbeeveer46 first. Maybe he wants to follow our discussions and it could be useful for people who would like to translate Pligg in their language. Dunno. :)
