Story Summary

There currently is not a limit on how long a story may be, so if your site has many long stories, this can make the index page very long. What we'd like to do is an an option to admin panel to "truncate" stories after X amount of characters. I was thinking the default could be about 150. So stories on the index page would look like....

"Text up to 150 characters... Read More..."

But if you click on the story and go into the page where you can leave comments, the whole story would appear, and it wouldn't be truncated. If you didn't want truncation on the index / shakeit pages, you could set it to some incredibly high number like "9999999999".




In addition to this, there is the "editorial" feature which hasn't seen too much use yet, but is designed to use pligg like a blog or feature stories / editorials directly in pligg kinda like Newsvine does. In this case we'd like to give the admin of the site the ability to let the submitter edit what will appear in the "summary" up to the 150 (set in the admin panel) character limit, or if the submitter doesn't want to change it, it will just default to using the first 150 characters.
