Adding extra fields to the submit form.

6.02 will add the abilty to add extra fields to the submit form, and have them show under the "posted by XXX" field.

I need someone who wants to use this on thier site to beta test with me. Come to the IRC if you can, or reply to the thread if you can't.

thanks

well I would like the ability to add a small image sort of how digg does it but not for the user but for the tutorial. like a 30x30 image that can sit next to the tutorial link.

Yeah, it would be great if there was a form that allowed users to add an image (without it being a security risk).

I think the only way for it to be added without a security issue would be for it to be hosted on local server. GDlib must make a check in the headers to determin if its a valid image. dynamic pages cannot be loaded (like www.blah.com/image.php, whihc outputs a jpg).

secondly, that should be opened in a new thread this thread is regarding extra feilds!

hi,
i will help on this since i was just about to customize the code myself to add more fields.

was going to integrate pligg with my site - vlogdir.com - but instead it makes more sense to use it on a new site I am preparing - vpulse.com - which will be blogs, content aggregation and i'm thinking that pligg would fit well in the mix.

one direction that i'd like to see pligg take, or that i may work on, is to bring in RSS feeds similar to a planetplanet.org approach, and let users sift the feed queue and vote. instead of manually bringing in links to content themselves. something like that would be very useful and super-automated ;-)

but yeah, custom fields are key. so do loop me on your progress and testing schedule for that. i'd be glad to help.
