Chat With Pligg Event

Next week we will be holding a get together in the Pligg IRC room to discuss Pligg's future and take suggestions from anyone who wants to have a say about where we should go next. We will be holding the discussion next Sunday (April 9) at both 2 pm and 9pm EST (-5 GMT). Please post a RSVP if you are able to join to let us know how many users to expect and if you are unable to chat with us next Sunday let us know what day of the week and time might be a better time for you for the next time we hold a discussion. I hope to see you all there, I'll post more info about the discussion on the Pligg blog.

I think the biggest problems to solve with Pligg are as follows:

1. Documentation - Document file purpose and relationship so we can modify our templates.

2. Templates - We need some good basic templates.

3. Smarty - What is the purpose of smarty? We need basic (dummy) instruction on how to use it. Do we need an editor to use it? Are the .tpl files smarty files?

4. Voting - It would be great if we could vote UP/down both user submitted story links AND user comments like on digg. Only thing is digg doesn't allow this feature for user submitted links yet so Pligg would be first... that's innovation!

5. Karma - Activate Karma.

6. Sorting - Sort content by date, relevance, etc.

7. Recommended Story.

I probably can't make a chat because I'm on Tokyo Time
But a problem seems to be each new release is tested for existing users
Each version had multiple files left out.
Or instructions on new set ups...

I can't, sorry. I'm leaving next week (thursday) for a week, so it might be useful to make a meeting before/after that date? I'm quite creative in ideas, so I could give you some help.

Ok for user comments. For submitted stories... rather not, and I think Yankidank/Ashdigg already said their opinion about this.

Funny to hear me sayign this, but I can't come to the 2 pm meeting now. I will be out of town until Sunday evening, hopefully I'll be back in time for the 7 pm meeting. In any event, AshDigg (everybody's favorite Pligger, and the best resource for answers) will be there.
