You guys should look into re-selling hosting services with Pligg install (you install - no support).

I think its fairly easy to get some rack-n-stack shop to set you up as a reseller then you can just have us use your servers.

Right now MBShost is doing Drupal (and many other) installs with no support past the install. I wish I knew that b/c installing Drupal on Yahoo was a pain.

Anyway - I'd sign up (even though I have MBShost now - I'd migrate to a service to support the community).

Yes. The devs can certainly make useful money by offering installation services.

Why, I've earned $40 from 2 pligg installs myself (and hoping to hear from another person reg. the same).

AshDigg started looking into this a few weeks ago. I thought about using the fundraiser money to help support this as an investment. If I could get enough $$$ to get a dedicated server I would love to start up this service for users. I might even invest my own $500 if I could be guarunteed enough users to even out.

If we were to start such a service, what would you guys want from a Pligg server besides just the initial installation? How many MB of space, GB or bandwidth/month and what price range? Also, would you require support for Pligg upgrades and such?

It would cost us about $100/month to rent a dedicated server with a 60/gb hdd 1TB transfer 512mb memory. At that price we currently have enough money to get 5 months of service if we used our Pligg fundraiser money.
