Who´s online and logged chat

I´ve found some sort of logged chat called live blogging (COVERITLIVE.COM - Home). It is embedded as an iframe. It would be cool to be able to start such a chat as a story comment.

This would make even more sense if there would be something like who´s online.

No, this is a classic chat without logging. Take a look at this swiss blog (hogenkamp.com » Blog Archiv » Test CoverItLive). The only thing that annoys me is the start screen of the embedded chat. But, anyway, it´s a good start for my idea!

In my opinion it´s better than voicechat or IM because it preserves the content for third users of the platform.

For reference:

Ajax Chat Module for Pligg - continuously logs the conversation to a txt file.

Pligg Visitors Statistics - while this doesn't show the exact users that are online it does show how many visitors in the site at the moment.

As far as I understood the screenshot, there is a single place for the chat, i.e. it´s impossible to have two chats at the same time about different stories without interfering eachother.

Is the txt log attachable to the story discussion by the story owner?

It's a site-wide single chat.
It's not attached to a story.
After installing the module you would need to create a link somewhere to yoursite.com/module.php?module=ajaxchat

That´s what I thought! I appreciate the author´s work but it doesn´t fit to my needs:
I´m looking for a story-related option to start a chat that is logged there. A high-end version would offer a voting opportunity for the statements of every writing participant (one opportunity per participant).
