anything to share/borrow with scuttle or connotea?

just wanted to know if anybody here has looked hard at scuttle.org (scuttle project)...it's a similar idea, though lacks many key features - one dude has take the time to implement more digg like features (see indiagram.com)...

also, connotea is an interesting implementation for highly technical applications...one thing that i really like about their app is the ability to call resources within private servers via library standards (eg linking on a network to a subscription resource)...also supports private groups/items, and most important: auto-fills bibliographic reference points for report generation...

i know that pligg is not designed for academics this way, though i'm curious to know if anybody has borrowed from connotea in this way to enhance pligg for academic types - or borrowed from scuttle to modify any features...
