JohnChow.com blogged today about www.n4g.com.
This is a 'digg' site for gamers.
I really like the way they engage their community with the scoring system, plus the way they rank stories is pretty interesting as well.
Check out their FAQ for more info on these items.
I am sure dollar5 will have some feedback if he reads this post. I know he (like a lot of us) are always looking for way to set pligg apart.
What do you think?

Here comes dollars5 for the feedback: The concept was innovative and sure the site sets itself apart from others (huh every one thinks of votes only - each version of Pligg should come with new terms that creates a new trend)The most interesting part is I was working long time on something similar (not just for gaming) - and this site is real neat; except for the lo..ong list of stories on each page - 15 - 25 should have been fine - but they use 40+. The side bar is filled with more details that any one can be overloaded. Somethings I like the most with N4G are http://www.n4g.com/Monitor.aspx , their karma system, rating system (both detailed at http://www.n4g.com/Info/FAQ.aspx), making posters to take tests (http://www.n4g.com/MemberZone/Wiz/EditorWiz01.aspx) - this will eliminate spammers, make the contributors of what kind of stuff does N4G really expect and last but not the least - the personalization system with "My" http://www.n4g.com/mygames/ I would rate this site 9/10. Last doubt - is it really a Pligg site - if so - it would be great for the author to share some of the features with the core of Pligg - hopefully..EDIT: I was really surprised to see the volume that this site receives Check at http://www.sitemeter.com/?a=stats&s=s29venix Last edited by dollars5; 03-28-2007 at 02:21 PM.. With *.aspx being the extension on the files at the site, it looks like this was done with ASP.Net and not PHP so no pligg source there. I also like how they have 'AD' stories and denote them as such. |
