news submission approval

i am looking for a way to require all news submissions to be approved by the admin before they show up on the web site. I know this kind of goes against the whole point of pligg but the only reason i want this feature is so i can check for profanity and make sure stories are relevant.

is there any way i can accomplish this?
thanks,
-jord

Jord533,

You're correct: "I know this kind of goes against the whole point of pligg...".

It does. Try Wordpress.

Maybe he has a certain application for it in mind. No reason to be sarcastic about it. Not everyones needs are going to fit into the peg hole of a social news site.

Just a thought.

can8dn,

Not being sarcastic. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Just getting to the point.

No worries. After reviewing what I wrote, I could have sounded "friendlier".

no problem guys, i understand. I stumbled across pligg and liked that you could vote on stories. This was the only cms that i found with this feature so thats why i chose it. I'm not using it as a social news site. I am actually considering it for a school web site. So i was going to allow students to post news but only if i could aprove stories first, there is no way i can allow kids to freely post whatever they please on a school web site for obvious reasons. So, for now it will be closed to teachers only. Maybe down the road i will creat my own submit method but for now i am just working out all the bugs.

thanks any way guys. keep up the good work on pligg.

I would really like to have this feature added to my site. Personally, I don't think it goes against the whole point of pligg. I just want the submission to be approved first to help avoid spam.

I run my pligg site in a very tight niche and would like to maintain the integrity of the site.

Any suggestion on how this module might be possible would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Well no free mods or basically no way for admin to approve it, it just goes directly, but for profanity,

U should head over to pligg pro they have a profanity filter module available, or two not sure,

That could be of use, and it requires nothing for you to do, trust me if your site gets really busy, you are not going to be able to check through all of them..

for span u should enable captcha for user registration and get askimet or captcha working on submission and that should hold off spam, then if any escape, you can catch by glancing over your site..

To much work, if your site gets big to read all of them.
