Use of trackback? The Meneame code causes that a trackback be placed in the comments section of the site your posted. I'm not sure I'm explaining that right. I post an entry on Meneame about www.somesite.com. The system asks me for the trackback URL. Once it posts, the system enters a comment or trackback in www.somesite.com stating that an entry was made in Meneame. I think this is a great idea to get more publicity as everyone who reads www.somesite.com will see the entry for Meneame and can link over. The owner of www.somesite.com will see it also and may want to help contribute to Meneame. Is this possible with pligg?

Yes trackbacks are included in Pligg but they are not working 100 percent. The identity of your site is not included in the trackbacks you send.

The thought is to get social advertising for your site. When someone posts a story about a blog entry made by Blogger, for example, the pligg system should pingback the blog entry with a comment. The comment should be something like: Anonymous comment: "From [your pligg site]: Blogger made a cool entry in his blog today..." Blogger will see this and go over to your site to find out what it is. He may then become a contributor. This how it works with Meneame.
