OK....I should have read the entire thread before I took Chuckroasts suggestion.

I corrected the above by using phpmyadmin and replacing the new template name back to the default name in the database. That still did not fix the problem. I finally went ahead and deleted the template folder and re uploaded it again.

Problem Solved.
