Oh, where to put the link?

This is a continuation of the question I asked in this thread ...

Where can I drop my code to pull part of our blog onto our main page?

Because there's nothing like drawing out the discussion, right?

I THINK the link mentioned in the above thread should go in pligg.tpl, but this code is far more involved than anything else I've worked with, so I'm unsure where to put it or indeed how to code the link. Can someone help me? This is the last big styling issue for our humble site.

Thank you!

Dyrinda

Put it either in your header.tpl or sidebar.tpl

Augh. I was going to put it above the posts rather than in the sidebar, but it won't show up for me anyway. Aren't .tpl files friendly toward basic html? I know I'm missing something very, very basic here.

Didn't know you wanted the link to be on every story.
To display it on the very top of each post, place it at the top of link_summary.tpl

Hope that is what your looking for.

I'm really not coherent tonight, am I? I meant above the entire listing of stories on the main page. Like that page I linked as an example.

(Though forcing people to read our blog over and over and OVER with each post certainly has its sick appeal. heh)

My question actually is how should I input this link and where. Will a simple html link work if I put it in the right place in the header.tpl? That worked hasn't for me so far. I inserted a link at the bottom of that file, but it didn't show up.

Really, I haven't dealt with Pligg enough yet to know what makes it happy. I'm working on it, though.

Depends on how fancy you want to get with the link but this will work

Code:
<a href="blog.php">Blog</a>

Ah, I realize now that I'm making this far difficult. I can actually plug that iframe code (or some version thereof) directly into the header and get what I want. Thanks for keeping me from falling over while I was walking in circles!

What is the secret to getting just the first few lines of the blog and then the "read more" link on pligg, as opposed to the entire blog and the scroll bars?
