Free Pligg Template: UpstartAqueous

I've ported another template from Six Shooter Media, hacking the Digital Nature Pligg template. Like the FuturePligg Solemnity template, it's a hack job.

I ported this template mostly to learn a bit more about Pligg; unfortunately, I don’t have time to clean things up. As far as I can tell, everything works, but it needs tweaking. Most of the problems are cosmetic and you’ll probably make your own changes (styling the links to your liking, etc.).

You can get in here:

Free Pligg Template: UpstartAqueous.

Be sure to read the instructions on the post.

You also have my permission to make it available for download on the Pligg forum.

Enjoy!

I love you so much Futurosity. Not only do you make templates for Pligg, this being the second template in a week, but you've also donated to Pligg. I can't tell you how much we appreciate you doing this, especially since you're making templates available for free. You might want to offer your Pligg Smarty-ing services in the Classifieds section, I'm sure someone would be willing to pay you to convert their own html/css template into a Pligg template (myself included). I have a html/css file that I'm willing to donate to the community for free if you can Smarty it. If you're interested PM me and I'll send you the files (html, css, js and psd).

Wow!

I'm glad to help. Porting these templates was a good way to learn something about Pligg and I'm happy that a few fellow Pliggers have found them useful. But they're really hack jobs. My CSS skills are pretty weak, so it's too time consuming to go in and clean everything up as I should. And I don't really know anything about Smarty. But the templates do work.

So... I don't feel confident enough, nor do I really have the time, to offer my services for pay. Thanks for the suggestion, though, and I'll try to help the Pligg community as I can.

Greate template, I love it.

Two things to point out:
The number in ( ) next to the Queue link does not show if you view the registration page.

And then one IE related error. The box containing the registration forms end up on the bottom page when registering.

Works like a charm in FF.

I'm not sure how to fix the first error. Pligg doesn't normally display those links on the registration page, so the solution may be to just delete them from the template.

Any help with IE bugs would be greatly appreciated. Until I get a new Intel Mac, it's too painful to use VirtualPC.

Very nice job with all these templates. I need to sit down one weekend and update them all to the latest svn code.

looks great!

you seem to be picking this up very quickly, if you have the time, would you write a walk through of what you do when porting a theme? id like to be able to do some templates, but .tpl files intimidate me.

well, I don't know if this helps... but I'm also a beginner and I'm currently tackling the template files one by one. after much studying of the files, it actually makes logic sense and it seems really easy if you can be patient.

the keyword here is to not give up and keep trying.

ok, well, like I said, i don't know if this helps any one, but what I did is I inserted and hid all the contents (<div style="visibility: hidden;">) and started one template file at a time.

it really helps to see things from blank and everything is coming together one piece at a time. and then I just start from scratch one section at a time.
