| That sucks...I did nothing except activating the default htaccess file. I will look there to see what's wrong, but in case I won't find a solution, can you tell me what in htaccess should be changed / removed?

I need some help with this Wrong Refferer problem. My website is posted as Addon domain. The website can be accessed in two locations: www.pligdomain.basedomain.com and www.pligdomain.com I've changed the settings.php to $my_base_url = 'http://www.pligdomain.com'; When I am in admin location, I've see that after few minutes / seconds this file is changed to $my_base_url = 'http://www.pligdomain.basedomain.com'; and I receive the Wrong Refferer message. I must reedit the file but the problem persists. If I want to change the file from Admin -> Location Installed I receive a message like this: It looks like this should be set to http://www.pliggdomain.com Value: http://www.pliggdomain.basedomain.com When I try to change the second value - the result is the same - the value remain unchanged. |

Please try to keep solutions self-contained in the forums. Third-party websites are both a hassle for users to navigate to, and they often are closed down in the future making the links useless.

Hi Yankidank, What is the best solution? Is it okay to remove the code as specified by this? Please help? Wrong Referrer Thanks |

Here is what I have found to be the best solution to this problem. I hope it helps all of you, too: 1. Edit settings.php 2. If $my_base_url does not include "http://", add "http://". So: $my_base_url = 'www.example.com'; Becomes: $my_base_url = 'http://www.example.com'; (Note: I was using Pligg 1.1.3) |

I installed it using the IP address whilst I was waiting for DNS propagation, I then tested submitting a story from a test account and got the 'wrong referrer' error. Fixing this was just a case of changing the 'Base URL' value in the admin area: Configure --> Location Installed |
