Configuration

Pligg's default features and behavior can be modified through the Configure Pligg section of the Admin Control Panel. You must be logged in as a God level user to access these controls.

Anonymous

toggle anonymous voting (default is off), change anonymous karma (what is this? points to the story author? other?)

AntiSpam

toggle check story URL against blacklist (default is off), set filenames for main and user blacklists and block log

Avatars

two sizes of avatar for registered users: set filename/path for large and small avatars, allow user avatar upload (default is on), set path for user avatar upload directory, set size for large and small avatars

CAPTCHA

toggle CAPTCHA verification in user registration (default is on)

Comments

toggle comments (default is on), set comment sort order, for Latest Comments sidebar module set number of comments and length of excerpts

ExtraFields

toggle ability to add user-defined extra fields to story submission

FriendlyURLs

toggle friendly URLs for stories and for categories, e.g. /story/(story title)/, /category/(categoryname)/, (default is both on)

Live

Live is a near-real-time overview of overall user activity (stories, comments, votes): toggle Live (default is on), set number of items to display and refresh frequency

Location Installed

edit base URL for site and Pligg root directory

Misc

set database language, number of stories to display per page, number of users in top users display, use GZip (default is off)

MySQL

set database table prefix (default is "pligg_")

OutGoing

toggle outgoing links (story title?), option: url, title or id?

PageViews

Shows the last 5 people to view a profile, displays on Profile page

Searching

select one of 4 search methods: three MySQL modes or Google site search

Social

Allow adding, removing, and viewing friends.

SpellCheck

toggle spellchecker, uses Speller Pages open source server-side spell check program (Speller Pages - Open Source Web Spell Checker)

Story

configure story presentation: dispay "you last viewed this page X minutes ago.", make story title link to source web site, open story in new window, enable thumbnail previews on story page

Submit

configure story submission: allow HTML tags, require URL to story source, show URL input box, default text if no URL provided, automatically add vote to new story (submitter votes), validate URL (does site exist? get title? is it a blog (via trackback)?), set minimum title and story length (number of characters)

Summary

configure story summary: enable links to delicious, my fav, and my bookmarks, set length of story summary (number of characters), allow summary editing

Summary-Recommend

configure tell-a-friend (send email with story link): toggle tell-a-friend, set email subject, message (default, included text part 1 and 2), email from

Tags

toggle tags, set smallest and largest text size and number of tags to show for main tag cloug and sidebar

Template

set default template, allow user template selection

Trackback

set trackback URL

UrlMethod

set friendly URLs (requires .htaccess file, mod_rewrite)

Voting

set number of votes for promotion to home page, maximum number of days to publish unpromoted story, voting method (digg-style or by 5-star rating), minimum rating for promotion
